Over the past month, Gloucestershire has experienced a number of serious incidents including a fatal crash, a multi-vehicle collision, an assault, a dog attack, a police pursuit, and a vehicle theft. Gloucestershire Police have issued appeals for information and dashcam footage from the public to assist with ongoing investigations.
On 5 September, a 36-year-old man tragically died following a single-vehicle collision on Bakers Hill, between Mickleton and Hidcote in the Cotswolds. His car left the road and collided with a tree. Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have captured dashcam footage to come forward. The family of the deceased has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.
A serious multi-vehicle collision occurred on the morning of 9 September near Shipton on the A40. The incident involved a brown BMW R 1200 GS motorbike and a grey Vauxhall Combo panel van. The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s from Cheltenham, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. The A40 outbound carriageway remains closed at the junction with the A436 Frogmill while investigations continue. Witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage are asked to contact the police.

On 1-2 September, a grey Nissan Qashqai was reported stolen from outside a property in Berkeley. Local residents had observed a man and woman acting suspiciously in the area during this time, and officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the theft or suspicious activity to come forward. CCTV or dashcam footage may be crucial to the inquiry.
In Tewkesbury on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28, an elderly man in his 90s was assaulted by three teenagers cycling through the area. The group reportedly verbally abused the man and struck him on the back of the head while he was walking. Police have conducted house-to-house enquiries and are seeking witnesses, including occupants of two vehicles believed to have been in the vicinity, as well as anyone with CCTV or dashcam evidence.
On 29 August in the Forest of Dean, a woman in her 30s was severely injured in an attack by two dogs while delivering a parcel. A man was arrested on suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control and has been released on police bail pending further investigations. Police remind the community that under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, it is an offence to have a dog dangerously out of control in any place, including private property. Witnesses to the incident are urged to come forward.
Additionally, on 26 August, a man named Callum McLuckie, aged 41, was detained following a police pursuit on the M5 motorway between junction 11 and Gloucester Services. He faces multiple charges including dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving over the legal alcohol limit, and aggravated vehicle taking. He has been released on bail and is due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on 13 October. Police are seeking dashcam footage from motorists travelling southbound along that stretch around 12:45pm to aid the investigation.
