A Gloucestershire Police officer has been dismissed following a misconduct hearing over predatory and misogynistic behaviour towards female colleagues and members of the public. PC Samuel Jameson faced multiple allegations of inappropriate conduct, which included making sexually charged comments to a student officer during their first meeting.
At a hearing held at the force’s headquarters, the panel was informed that Jameson advised the student officer to consider ending her relationship with her partner, claiming they might sleep together. Additionally, he inappropriately questioned the same trainee about which tutor she wanted to sleep with.
Beyond these instances, Jameson reportedly made sexualized and derogatory remarks about female members of the public while on duty and used disparaging language towards female colleagues, labeling them as overconfident and arrogant.

Following concerns raised in April 2023, Jameson was suspended and subjected to a Professional Standards Department investigation. The subsequent gross misconduct hearing, chaired by Julia Debenham, former Deputy Chief Constable of Lincolnshire Police, concluded that Jameson had violated multiple professional standards, including Authority, Respect and Courtesy, Equality and Diversity, and Discreditable Conduct.
As a result, PC Jameson was dismissed without notice and added to the Police Barred List. Deputy Chief Constable Katy Barrow-Grint condemned his actions, stating, “There is no place at Gloucestershire Constabulary for men like PC Jameson who abuse their position to take advantage of less experienced female officers and are derogatory to colleagues and members of the public. I am pleased the panel has concluded his predatory and misogynistic behaviour warranted dismissal.”
