A Gloucestershire Police officer, PC Samuel Jameson, has been dismissed following a misconduct hearing that exposed his predatory and misogynistic behaviour towards female colleagues and members of the public.
During the hearing held at Gloucestershire Constabulary’s headquarters, the panel, chaired by former Lincolnshire Deputy Chief Constable Julia Debenham, reviewed disturbing evidence of PC Jameson’s conduct. In his first meeting with a student officer, he inappropriately suggested she should end her relationship with her partner because they might have an affair. He also asked this trainee which tutor she would prefer to sleep with, exemplifying sexual harassment early in his supervisory role.
Beyond inappropriate advances, PC Jameson was found to have made sexualised and derogatory remarks about women in public while on duty, and disparaged female colleagues by labeling them as overconfident and arrogant.

Concerns about his behaviour were first raised in April 2023, leading to his suspension and a thorough investigation by the Professional Standards Department. The subsequent gross misconduct hearing culminated on April 29 with the panel ruling that Jameson’s actions breached the standards of professional conduct concerning Authority, Respect and Courtesy, Equality and Diversity, and Discreditable Conduct.
As a result, PC Jameson was dismissed immediately without notice and placed on the Police Barred List.
Deputy Chief Constable Katy Barrow-Grint emphasized the force’s commitment to upholding integrity: “There is no place at Gloucestershire Constabulary for men like PC Jameson who abuse their positions to exploit less experienced female officers and demean colleagues and the public. I am satisfied the panel’s decision reflects the seriousness of his predatory and misogynistic behaviour.”
