A former Gloucestershire police officer, Oliver Wilson, has been barred from policing after sexually harassing a woman at an off-duty house party. The incident occurred in September 2023 at a gathering in Frampton on Severn and was reviewed during a gross misconduct hearing held on December 1 at the Gloucestershire Constabulary headquarters in Quedgeley.
During the party, PC Wilson’s inappropriate behavior led to him being asked to leave the residence. After departing, he became aggressive and got into a physical altercation with another man, resulting in minor injuries to both parties.
Though no criminal charges were filed against Wilson, the force’s professional standards department pursued gross misconduct proceedings. The hearing panel concluded that his actions violated the College of Policing’s Standards of Professional Behaviour concerning Discreditable Conduct and Authority, Respect, and Courtesy.

The panel determined that had Wilson not already resigned, he would have been dismissed without notice. Consequently, his name has been added to the Police Barred List, preventing him from future service in law enforcement.
Deputy Chief Constable Katy Barrow-Grint emphasized the importance of maintaining high ethical standards, stating, “Police officers must uphold the standards expected of them both on and off-duty. There is no place for anyone who behaves sexually inappropriately or violently in policing.”
