Gloucestershire Music Teacher to Stand Trial Over Child Sex Offences

A private music teacher from Gloucestershire, Philip Anderson, 49, is scheduled to stand trial next year after denying multiple charges of child sexual offences. Anderson faces six counts of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13 by inappropriate touching.

The alleged offences reportedly took place over a four-year span and involved five different girls at two schools where he was employed as a private music instructor. Additionally, Anderson faces two counts of sexual assault connected to a girl who received private lessons at his home studio.

During a hearing at Gloucester Crown Court, Anderson confirmed his identity and entered not guilty pleas to all charges. Judge Rupert Lowe has set the trial to begin on December 13, 2027, with a preliminary case management hearing scheduled for October 26 of this year.
