Gloucestershire Hosts Drag Race in Memory of Former Finalist

Gloucestershire is gearing up for a charity fundraising event, Drag Wars: All Stars, honoring the late Blu Chyna, a former Drag Wars finalist. The event, to be held at the Frog and Fiddle in Cheltenham, will see over 40 drag artists from across the UK and beyond coming together for this heartwarming tribute.

Drew Llewelyn, known by the stage name Blu Chyna, was a beloved figure in the Gloucestershire drag scene. His fellow artists remember him fondly and are dedicated to keeping his legacy alive. The competition, which has grown significantly over the years, has garnered international recognition and support, with shows consistently selling out in advance.

In addition to honoring Blu Chyna, the event will also raise funds for Hope for Tomorrow charity and Cancer Research UK. Participants in this year’s event will include past contestants, judges, and hosts, making it a memorable gathering of past and present Drag Wars contributors.

Misty Monique, the stage name of Jonathan Emptage, emphasizes the significance of bringing together performers from the past eight years. The event has been instrumental in providing a platform for emerging drag talents and has been essential in the growth of the drag community in Gloucestershire.

Sponsored by Amwins Global Risks, Hexe Digital, and Purelands Acupuncture, this event would not have been possible without the generous support of the sponsors and the Frog and Fiddle. Misty expresses her gratitude for the performers and attendees, emphasizing that the event is a celebration of drag in Gloucestershire, open to all.
