Weather forecasting models suggest that Gloucestershire could see temperatures rising to 27°C next week, marking a warmer spell across the county. According to the latest GFS weather model, Gloucestershire is among 24 counties in England where temperatures are expected to reach 27°C or higher. This increase in temperature is forecast primarily for next Tuesday and Wednesday, positioning Gloucestershire among the warmest areas during that period.
This week, the Met Office anticipates temperatures remaining predominantly in the low 20s, although southern parts of the UK may experience highs between 24°C and 25°C over the weekend. Before the warmer conditions arrive, unsettled weather is expected with cloud cover, rain, and significant showers forecast across much of the UK tomorrow. Conditions are then projected to improve moving into next week.
Data from the GFS model indicate that parts of central and southern England could see temperatures reach 27°C on Tuesday. By Wednesday, some western and south-eastern areas may experience temperatures as high as 28°C, with a broader region, including Gloucestershire, likely to see 27°C.

Temperature anomaly maps for the upcoming week show England and Wales shaded in reds and oranges, reflecting temperatures above the seasonal average. However, it is important to note that forecasts several days in advance remain subject to change.
Looking further ahead, the Met Office highlights the potential for dry and more settled periods starting next week, accompanied by some rather warm days. Their forecast for 13 to 22 September states: “Remaining changeable, with occasional rain or showers arriving from the North Atlantic, most frequent across northern and western parts of the UK, where some strong winds will also be possible at times.
“However, there will also be some reasonable dry and more settled periods, especially across southern areas. Later in the month, high pressure may become more dominant near the UK, perhaps bringing more widely settled conditions for a time, particularly away from the far north.
“Temperatures for the period as a whole will probably be close to average overall, but there is scope for some rather warm days at times, along with occasional relatively cool nights.”
