The Met Office weather maps reveal that Gloucestershire, alongside 45 other regions across the UK, is set to experience significant rainfall on Wednesday. Large swathes of the country, from Scotland down to the Midlands and Wales, are displaying blue shades on the latest forecasts, signalling widespread wet conditions on 2 September.
Northern areas, particularly those between Manchester and Glasgow, are expected to endure the most intense downpours, with some locations marked in orange and yellow where heavier rain is anticipated. Most affected areas in England are projected to see rainfall rates of around 0.5–1mm per hour, while parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales could encounter up to 8mm of precipitation.
This period of heavy rain follows Tuesday’s forecasted showers, with 21 areas reported to be impacted by rainfall then. The Met Office outlook from Wednesday through to Friday advises that the weather will remain changeable, featuring showers or prolonged spells of rain across many regions. However, some drier and brighter intervals are also expected to occur. Temperatures are forecast to be near the typical levels for early September, though nights may often feel mild.
