John Sheridan, 42, of Park Royal in London, has been sentenced for repeatedly treating the streets of Gloucester as his personal dumping ground. Sheridan was convicted of five separate fly-tipping offences following evidence captured on dashcam, videos submitted by members of the public, and CCTV footage.
Representing Gloucester City Council, the law firm One Legal successfully secured the convictions. Sheridan received a 30-week jail sentence suspended for two years, alongside an order to attend up to 20 rehabilitation activity days under probation supervision. Additionally, he was fined £1,187.
The van Sheridan used to carry out the offences has been seized by the council and subsequently crushed.

Gloucester City Council emphasised the serious impact of fly-tipping, stating it is not a victimless crime as it damages the environment, drains taxpayers' money, and adversely affects local communities. The council reaffirmed its commitment to continuing enforcement actions against those responsible for such offences.
