Gloucester Rugby Welcome Dan Robson Back as Tomos Williams Announces Departure

Gloucester Rugby has proudly confirmed the return of Dan Robson to Kingsholm, marking a significant homecoming ten years after his initial spell with the club. Robson originally made 80 appearances for Gloucester between 2010 and 2015 before moving on to Wasps, where he clocked up 150 appearances and started in Premiership Finals in both 2017 and 2019.

Following Wasps’ financial difficulties in 2022, Robson transitioned to France’s Top 14, joining Pau and making 71 appearances, including a recent try against Northampton Saints in the Champions Cup. His international experience and consistent performance make him a valuable asset as he rejoins Gloucester.

Director of Rugby George Skivington praised Robson’s professionalism and versatility: “Dan brings a wealth of experience and attacking skill to Kingsholm. His ability to manage the game tactically complements the attacking style we want to sustain. Moreover, his presence will be invaluable for mentoring our promising young talents, including Caolan Englefield.”

Robson expressed enthusiasm about his return: “Gloucester holds a special place in my heart. Returning feels like coming full circle. I’m excited about the potential of this squad and eager to contribute my experience. Playing in front of The Shed again will be a privilege.”

Meanwhile, Gloucester announced that scrum-half Tomos Williams will leave the club at the end of the 2025/26 season. Williams, who joined Gloucester in 2024 and won the Gallagher Player of the Season Award in his first Premiership campaign, has decided to seek new challenges despite being offered a contract extension. The 30-year-old, capped 69 times for Wales, has been linked with a move to Saracens.

In addition to these changes, Gloucester has secured the signings of fellow Wales internationals Jac Morgan and Dewi Lake from the Ospreys for the next season, signaling continued investment in Welsh talent.
