Saracens continued their late-season surge with a commanding 30-14 win over Gloucester at the StoneX Stadium, a result that moved them closer to securing a place in the Gallagher Premiership play-offs.
Rotimi Segun’s early brace set the tone for Saracens, who raced into an 18-0 half-time lead. The visitors struggled to contain the hosts’ attacking threat, allowing Saracens to capitalize on repeated errors and missed tackles. Saracens’ opener came in the seventh minute when Fergus Burke’s incisive run set up Max Malins, whose inside pass found Segun to score. Although the conversion was missed, Saracens quickly extended their advantage with Burke’s penalty kick following Gloucester’s offside.
Just six minutes later, Segun crossed again thanks to a break in Gloucester’s defense during a first-phase move inside the 22. Despite the disruption of a referee change due to injury midway through the first half, Saracens maintained control, with Burke adding a further penalty before the break.

The hosts doubled down in the second half with tries from Ben Earl and Theo Dan, the latter benefiting from a powerful driving maul. Owen Farrell’s conversion kept the scoreboard ticking, pushing the lead to 30-0. Gloucester’s first points came late, in the 71st minute, when a slick passing sequence involving Caolan Englefield, Charlie Atkinson, and Ben Loader ended with Will Joseph crossing in the corner.
Saracens finished the match a man down after Dan received a sin-bin following a TMO review that found contact with Jack Clement’s head. Gloucester took advantage, with Freddie Thomas aiding Joseph to score a second try in the closing minutes.
Despite the late efforts, Gloucester’s mistakes had already cost them dearly. The loss sees them drop to ninth in the standings, while Saracens remain four points behind fourth-placed Exeter Chiefs, keeping their hopes alive for a Premiership title under outgoing director of rugby Mark McCall.
