Gloucester Rugby Secures Future with New Contract for Jack Clement

Gloucester Rugby has proudly announced that Jack Clement, a talented back-row forward developed through their own ranks, has signed a contract extension with the Gallagher Premiership club.

A native of Bourneside and an alumnus of Cheltenham College, Clement made his debut for the Cherry and Whites in the 2019/20 season. Since then, he has become a cornerstone of the team, surpassing 100 appearances and demonstrating remarkable consistency.

Versatile across the back row, Clement excels at both blindside flanker and number eight positions. The 2023/24 centenary season marked a significant breakthrough for him, as he delivered standout performances that earned him both the Coaches’ Young Player of the Season and the Stowford Press Supporters’ Young Player of the Season accolades. He is currently recognized as Gloucester’s leading ball-carrying forward, a testament to his work rate and skill on the field.

Director of Rugby George Skivington praised Clement’s impact, stating, “Jack’s 120 appearances at just 24 show how vital he is to our squad. Our recent style adaption was designed around players like him—he thrives with the ball and consistently ranks among our top performers in carries and metres gained. As a local product committed to our vision, he embodies what Gloucester Rugby stands for. I believe Jack will keep progressing and push for honours at even higher levels.”

Clement spoke about his decision to stay: “Re-signing at Kingsholm was an easy choice. We have an exceptional team, supportive coaches, and dedicated staff. Though this season hasn’t met our goals, I’m confident in our potential to build something memorable. I’ve cherished every moment with the Cherry and Whites and look forward to what’s ahead.”
