Gloucester Rugby has officially announced that second-row forward Cam Jordan will be departing the club at the conclusion of the current season to join Gallagher Premiership rivals Newcastle Red Bulls. This move has been widely anticipated and reported in the media.
Jordan, 26, who joined Gloucester from Leicester Tigers in 2020, has made a significant contribution with 71 appearances for the Cherry and Whites. Throughout his tenure, he earned the respect and support of the fans, making Kingsholm stadium his second home.
Reflecting on his time at Gloucester, Jordan stated: “I came to Gloucester in 2020 after leaving Leicester as a teenager. The fans put their faith in me, and I like to think that over the years I’ve repaid that faith. I truly believe Kingsholm is one of the best atmospheres in European rugby, and it will always be a special place to me… I look forward to the boos I’ll receive from the Shed in the future.

“Leaving the club wasn’t an easy decision, but I’ve made the choice based on what I believe is best for my career.
“For now, my focus is firmly on the rest of the season. I’m determined to finish my time here on a positive note and, more importantly, try to give the fans something to be excited about in the second half of this season. We owe it to you.”
Gloucester has already taken steps to fill the void left by Jordan’s imminent departure, securing Rugby World Cup winner Jean Kleyn and former Bristol Bears lock Joe Joyce for the 2026/27 season.
Neil McIlroy, sporting general manager of Newcastle Red Bulls, expressed enthusiasm about the signing, stating: “Cam is a big, physical lock who will help add go-forward and set-piece ability to our squad.
“He has a lot of Gallagher Premiership experience, he’s at a good age, and he will be an important part of that engine room aiming to get us on the front foot.”
Jordan’s move marks a new chapter in his career as he prepares to bring his robust presence and Premiership expertise to the Newcastle lineup.
