Gloucester Rhythm & Blues Festival Set to Electrify the City This Weekend

Gloucester’s beloved Rhythm & Blues Festival is back, ready to fill the city with ten days of non-stop musical excitement. From Friday, July 25 to Sunday, August 3, the streets will pulse with the soulful sounds of blues, featuring over 65 live performances across ten vibrant venues.

This festival has earned its place as a highlight of Gloucester’s summer calendar, drawing local legends, rising stars, and international talents alike. Whether you’re seeking relaxed afternoon sets or high-energy evening shows, the festival offers something for every blues enthusiast.

Mark Cole, a veteran performer who has appeared at the festival since its inception more than three decades ago, shares his enthusiasm: “I’ve been playing at this festival since it started over thirty years ago and it never fails to deliver a great experience for the artists. Bands are still eager to join the lineup, which speaks to its lasting success and popularity. Having performed at festivals worldwide, I can confidently say ours ranks among the best on the blues circuit. I’m sure it will remain a beloved event for many more years to come.”

Festival organiser Katie Thomas highlights the expanded scope this year: “We’ve curated an epic lineup with over 65 acts and welcomed three new venues, making ten in total across the city. Plus, we’re thrilled to have The Dusk Brothers return as festival favourites. There truly is something for everyone to enjoy.”

Whether you’re a dedicated blues fan or new to the genre, the Gloucester Rhythm & Blues Festival promises unforgettable performances in a lively city atmosphere. Programs are available at all participating venues, and updates can be found on the festival’s official Facebook page.
