Gloucester Nightclub Shuts Down Just Months After £750,000 Makeover

A prominent Gloucester nightclub has closed permanently less than a year after a major refurbishment valued at £750,000. The Trilogy nightclub, located on Eastgate Street and previously known as ATIK, ceased operations on Saturday, June 14, citing financial unviability as the primary reason for its closure.

The venue was given a fresh start in August 2024 following a significant investment by Epic Bars and Clubs, a national operator aiming to revitalize the space with modern upgrades and enhanced facilities. However, despite these efforts and high hopes for a successful relaunch, Trilogy struggled to generate the necessary revenue to stay afloat.

A Trilogy spokesperson expressed their regret over the closure, stating: “We are very sad to announce that Trilogy nightclub in Gloucester has permanently closed. The venue became unviable to continue trading. All bookings and promoters were informed of the closure as promptly as staff were. We apologise for any inconveniences this may have caused.”

The statement also extended gratitude to the many supporters of the nightclub, including loyal patrons, DJs, staff, security personnel, and the wider Gloucester community. “It’s never easy to say goodbye, but we’re grateful for everyone who helped bring the venue to life,” the spokesperson added.

Despite the considerable investment and enthusiasm, the reality of running a profitable nightclub in the current market proved too challenging, leading to the venue’s premature closure.
