After 15 years in the car trade, Ben Powell of Gloucester has made his childhood dream of opening a trading card shop a reality. His shop, Full Fire TCG, located in The Docks, has quickly gained popularity and a dedicated following of trading card enthusiasts.
Having been an avid collector and trader of cards since childhood, Powell made the decision to share his passion with the community by opening the shop, which offers a wide range of trading card products including Disney, Pokemon, Dungeons and Dragons, and Magic: The Gathering.
Initially juggling the demands of a full-time job at a car dealership with his new business, Powell eventually took the leap to run Full Fire TCG full-time. The overwhelming support from the public and the local community played a significant role in his decision. The shop has transitioned into a bustling center for trading card enthusiasts, providing a safe and welcoming space for players to gather.

Expressing his gratitude for the immense support received, Powell said, “The public have been super welcoming and turned the shop into a constant hive of activity. I have been fortunate to have a lot of support and help from members of the community.”
Since transitioning to full-time operation, Full Fire TCG has become a hub for trading card groups and individual enthusiasts, attracting customers from the town centre and beyond. Powell’s dedication to providing exceptional customer service has been pivotal to the shop’s success, reflecting his belief that “for the business to work, it was about the people and for the people.”
The shop is open Monday through Saturday, offering extended hours to accommodate the growing interest from trading card enthusiasts.
