Gloucester Drug Dealer Sentenced Following Discovery of £26,620 in Cash

A 34-year-old Gloucester man, Santiago Sadiku of Vauxhall Road, has been sentenced to three years in prison after a substantial amount of money was discovered during a police operation targeting drug activity in the city.

Sadiku appeared before Gloucester Crown Court on Thursday, 10 September, following a guilty plea to multiple drug-related offences. The case stemmed from a police raid executed on 10 August in the Barton area, involving the Gloucester Neighbourhood Support Team, Dogs Unit and Drone Unit.

During the raid, officers uncovered cocaine, cannabis and a significant sum of cash at the property. A thorough search of the premises revealed a yellow JD Sports bag in the loft containing £20,000 in banknotes. Additionally, in Sadiku’s bedroom, police found a designer bag with £4,500 in English banknotes, £20 in Scottish currency, and a plastic bottle packed with coins amounting to £2,100.

Digital evidence further substantiated the charges against Sadiku. His mobile phone was seized and examined by a Drugs Expert Witness, who found WhatsApp messages confirming his involvement in the supply of cannabis and cocaine.

The presence of drugs, substantial cash sums, and communication evidence culminated in Sadiku’s conviction and sentencing. The police have expressed their commitment to eliminating the influence of drug dealers from Gloucester’s communities.

A spokesperson for the Gloucestershire and Forest Local Policing Area stated: “We welcome the removal of Sadiku from our streets, preventing further harm to the local community through his drug dealing activities. This case exemplifies our ongoing dedication to disrupting drug supply networks across Gloucestershire.”
