A beloved coffee shop and bakery in Gloucester has been the victim of a break-in, leaving its owner devastated and deeply angry. Sweet T’s, a charming pink shop on Tredworth Road known for its homemade cake treats inspired by school tray bakes, opened in 2022 and quickly gained a devoted local following.
The break-in took place sometime between the afternoon of Sunday, May 18, and the morning of Wednesday, May 21, during which the intruder accessed the till and stole the cash box. The incident was publicly shared in a heartfelt post on Sweet T’s Facebook page, where the owner expressed profound shock and sorrow.
With a heavy heart, the owner wrote: “Our little shop was broken into, and right now we’re feeling heartbroken, violated, and lost for words. I cannot believe someone would do this to us. Just last week we opened up about how hard things have been, and now this. Someone has taken what we’ve worked so hard for. I have never felt an anger like it. It’s gutting. I feel physically sick and heartbroken.”

Despite the emotional toll, the owner is determined to keep going. “We’re taking today to get things sorted and to breathe, and we’ll be back open tomorrow as usual—because that’s what we do, we keep going, although this is easier said than done. I am seriously struggling to keep this spark at the moment.”
The local community quickly rallied with messages of support and sympathy following the news. Gloucestershire Police have confirmed the incident is under investigation and urge anyone with information to come forward, quoting incident number 101 of May 21, 2025.
