Gloucester City’s promising midfielder Harry Pinchard has completed a transfer to National League South leaders Dorking Wanderers for an undisclosed fee.
Pinchard, who joined Gloucester City in the summer of 2023, made an impressive 114 appearances and scored 15 goals during his time at the club. Before signing with City, he even spent time on trial with League Two club Cheltenham Town.
City manager Daf Williams expressed his disappointment at losing one of his key players, especially at a crucial stage of the season. “Naturally, we are disappointed to lose Pinchy, more so because of the poor timing in which he’s decided to explore a move and depart,” Williams said. “We did everything we could to keep him, but ultimately, he wanted to leave, and we were unable to change his mind.”

With the Tigers sitting in second place and only 11 games remaining, losing Pinchard is a significant blow. Adding to the challenge, midfielder Ed Williams remains sidelined with injury and is not expected back until late March, which may prompt Gloucester City to seek reinforcements in midfield.
For Pinchard, the move to Dorking Wanderers presents an exciting opportunity. The Wanderers currently top the National League South by six points and are strong promotion favourites. Joining a club on course for promotion offers Pinchard the chance to step up and play National League football next season, likely motivating his decision to push for the transfer.
