Gloucester City Women’s manager, Chris Hill, expressed his delight as his team clinched the Regen Arable SWRWFL Division One North title with an unbeaten record. The victory also means promotion to the Premier Division, where they will face tough opponents such as Forest Green Rovers Women and Torquay United Women in the upcoming season.
Hill was quick to praise his players, acknowledging their hard work and resilience throughout the season. The team’s depth and adaptability were highlighted, particularly in coping with key injuries to players like Chloe Golding and Georgi Slanina-Wertz. Notable contributors to the team’s success included top scorer Sachi Kaneko-Grun, experienced player Lauren Peck, and reliable defender Maggie Neall.
In addition, midfielders Lucabella Davis and Kassidy Grey, as well as wingers Paige Todd, Sophia Gomez, Laina Warren, and Taite Scheafer, played crucial roles in the team’s achievements. Goalkeeper Sam Linteo also showcased consistency, supported by Kami Sticher, Daniella Soave, and Mollie Skibinski. Young talent Miranda Smith earned commendation for her impact following promotion from the reserve side.

Hill also extended his appreciation to the backroom staff for their indispensable support, emphasizing the contributions of the physio, strength, and conditioning coach, as well as the assistant, goalkeeper coach, and analyst.
The team’s outstanding performance was not only limited to the league, as they also secured a spot in the Gloucestershire County Cup final. They are set to face off against Premier Division side Frampton Rovers, adding another exciting opportunity for success in the current season.
Alongside the first team’s achievements, Gloucester City Women’s growth since its establishment in 2021 was highlighted, with a thriving women’s section that includes senior and youth teams. The reserve team’s notable success in the Gloucestershire County Women’s League Division Two further underscored the club’s overall progress.
