The Kingsway BMX Pump Track in Gloucester has been closed indefinitely following ongoing vandalism that has compromised the safety of the facility. The local council confirmed that the gates have been locked as the track is currently unsafe for riders.
Despite previous efforts to address the issue, including resurfacing the track after a closure in summer 2025, vandalism continues to plague the park. After closing in July 2025 and undergoing repairs, the BMX park reopened in October, only to face further damage shortly thereafter.
On March 24, Gloucester City Council announced the track’s latest closure, citing the excavation of holes beneath the surface by some individuals, which poses a serious hazard. A council spokesperson said, “The BMX Track at Kingsway has had to be closed until further notice due to continuous vandalism. This has been an ongoing issue, and despite resurfacing to prevent further damage, the recent digging has made the track unsafe. We have temporarily locked the gates and will provide updates as soon as possible.”
