Gardeners' World fans have reason to celebrate as beloved presenter Monty Don announced the filming of a new series is underway. The 70-year-old horticultural expert shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of filming equipment set up in his garden, where the popular BBC programme is recorded.

“First day filming in the garden for new GW series. Only another 50 odd to go!” Monty captioned the post. He confirmed that the first episode will air on Friday, March 13th, much to the delight of viewers eagerly awaiting the show’s return.

Fans flooded the comments, expressing their enthusiasm. One exclaimed, “Oh my goodness absolutely cannot wait!” while another noted, “It is a sign of Spring when the Gardeners' World series is back on.” Many echoed similar sentiments, sharing their excitement and appreciation for the show, with one fan saying, “I’ve been counting down the days. Gardeners' World has been a staple of British television since it first aired in 1968. Alongside Monty Don, the show features regular hosts including Adam Frost, Frances Tophill, Joe Swift, and Carol Klein, among others, who bring expert gardening advice and seasonal tips to viewers.

The announcement follows Monty’s recent pause in filming, during which he shared insights on early-season gardening, highlighting rhubarb cultivation—a plant he has tended for 36 years. Alongside him, his golden retriever Ned made an appearance, adding a charming touch to the update.

Fans can look forward to new episodes this spring, with Gardeners' World available for streaming on BBC iPlayer.
