Sean Bowen delivered a commanding performance aboard Glengouly to claim the Support The Hunt Family Fund December Gold Cup at Cheltenham, marking the most significant victory of trainer Faye Bramley’s career.
From the front, Bowen expertly controlled the pace, keeping his rivals at bay and conserving his mount’s energy. As the race progressed, he steadily increased the tempo, maintaining a comfortable lead while the chasing pack found themselves unable to close the gap.
Approaching the final straight, key contenders including Vincenzo, Hoe Joly Smoke, and Jagwar positioned themselves for a challenge. However, Bowen remained in full control, expertly gauging Glengouly’s strength as they powered up the Cheltenham hill.

Glengouly, a former Willie Mullins trainee, surged ahead to secure a remarkable victory at 33-1 odds. Vincenzo finished strongly to take second by a length and a half, with Jagwar narrowly holding onto third place.
In a generous gesture, the winning owners, The Cheeky Pups syndicate, announced they would donate £10,000 of their prize money to the Hunt Family Fund, which has raised nearly £500,000 throughout the week for various charitable causes.
