Peanuts New York Deli and Smokehouse in Stroud has come a long way from its humble beginnings in a home kitchen. This thriving restaurant offers an evolving menu that now includes breakfast, roast dinners, and a selection of American-style smoked meats such as brisket, pork rib, chicken, short ribs, and burgers.
The idea for the deli originated in the founder’s home kitchen in Quedgeley in 2015, where David Paramore, then 40 years old, started selling New York style sandwiches. The venture gained popularity, with one loyal customer, Nick Leguen de Lacroix, 35, making a daily pilgrimage from Minchinhampton for his sandwich fix.
The deli had to close after a year due to outgrowing the home kitchen and a lack of investment for expansion. However, Nick’s craving for a proper New York-style pastrami Reuben prompted him to pitch the idea of reopening Peanuts with a commercial storefront and a broader menu to David.

In 2024, the deli reopened with a focus on not only New York style sandwiches but also a range of smoked meats, creating a haven for lovers of American BBQ in Stroud. The addition of pitmaster and head chef Declan Gallagher and general manager Tyrone Morgan further enhanced the team’s expertise and customer service.
With all four partners as owners, Peanuts New York Deli has thrived, solidifying its place at the heart of the community. As the business continues to expand, the team remains passionate about the deli’s success and looks forward to introducing new menu items to keep customers coming back for more.
Peanuts New York Deli is open Wednesday to Sunday, inviting food lovers to savor the taste of New York and authentic American BBQ in a welcoming atmosphere.
