From Cocktail Bars to Pilates Studios: Exciting New Openings Transform Montpellier, Cheltenham

Montpellier, one of Cheltenham’s most fashionable neighborhoods, has long been celebrated for its unique blend of independent boutiques, galleries, chic cafés, and bars. Now, this stylish district is about to become even more dynamic with a string of exciting new openings.

Cheltenham Vibe recently shared an exciting update on Instagram, revealing a diverse range of new businesses coming soon to Montpellier—all conveniently located within just 50 metres of one another. From a trendy cocktail bar and an award-winning Indian restaurant to a fresh fashion boutique, there’s plenty to look forward to.

Montpellier Walk will soon welcome Bandook, an acclaimed Indian restaurant known for its authentic flavors and Bath location. Taking over the former ASK Italian site, Bandook’s branding is already visible, sparking enthusiasm among local food lovers. While the official opening date remains unconfirmed, anticipation is running high.

Just a few doors down, the old Urban Fox cocktail bar will make way for Plates and Shakers, a cocktail and tapas venue renowned for winning Best Cocktail Bar at the 2025 Midlands Food and Beverage Hospitality Awards for its Ross-on-Wye outlet. Though the Cheltenham site’s windows remain boarded up, the exterior proudly displays glowing TripAdvisor reviews, highlighting its promising arrival.

Adding to the fashion scene, Busby & Fox is transforming the former Slate Clothing store into one of its newest branches. This independent women’s clothing brand, with 12 stores across the southwest, including Cirencester and Oxford, is hiring passionate staff eager to embrace effortless style. Interested applicants can apply via busbyandfox.com.

Meanwhile, Queen’s Circus will soon be the home of Koco Bloom, a Pilates and wellbeing studio offering mindfulness classes and holistic treatments in four tranquil treatment rooms. Expected to open in August, Koco Bloom has already begun introducing its team on Instagram, promising a serene space dedicated to wellness.

Recent additions to Cheltenham’s vibrant scene also include Millie’s Brasserie, which opened last month at the junction of Suffolk Square and Lansdown Road. Serving modern British cuisine with European influences, Millie’s is quickly winning hearts—and palates—with rave reviews praising its exceptional dishes and inviting atmosphere.

As Montpellier continues to evolve with these new, exciting ventures, it’s the perfect time to explore this fashionable corner of Cheltenham and enjoy everything the area has to offer.
