Gloucester is preparing to celebrate Small Business Saturday with a vibrant and festive event organized by Gloucester BID, designed to draw families, shoppers, and tourists into the heart of the city.
Taking place this Saturday from 11am to 3pm at 49 Westgate Street, the “Festive Fun” celebration will feature a Christmas Create & Make session for children, face painting, the antics of a playful elf, and live entertainment including performances by the Gloucester Excelsior Band. Visitors can also try their luck on the ‘Shine a Light on Local’ Spin to Win wheel for a chance to win exciting prizes.
This event is part of a broader effort to spotlight and support Gloucester’s thriving independent business community. Small Business Saturday is a nationwide campaign that encourages people to shop local and champion the small businesses that are the backbone of their local economies.

To make visiting the city centre easier, Gloucester City Council is offering free parking all day in its car parks on Westgate Street, Station Road, and Hare Lane North throughout the day. This initiative aims to encourage more visitors to explore the city market and support their favourite independent stores.
