Fox Hunting Charges Against Cheltenham Man Dropped by CPS

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has dropped the charges against Oliver Dale, 46, from Cheltenham, who faced accusations related to fox hunting. Dale was charged with three counts of Hunting a Wild Mammal with Dogs, in violation of Section 1 of the Hunting Act 2004.

Originally scheduled to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, May 14, the case was halted when Gloucestershire Police were informed that the CPS would no longer proceed.

A spokesperson for the CPS explained, “We have a duty to continually review cases. After reassessing the evidence, we determined there was no longer a realistic chance of securing a conviction, leading us to discontinue the prosecution.”
