Forest Green Rovers are set to face Weston-super-Mare at The New Lawn in the third round of the FA Trophy on Saturday, December 13.
Weston-super-Mare, currently second in the National League South, have impressed this season with 32 points from just 15 matches. They have two games in hand over league leaders Hornchurch. In their recent FA Trophy fixture, the Seagulls recorded a 1-0 victory over Chippenham, with former Bristol City left-back Callum Wood scoring the decisive goal midway through the first half.
Forest Green, with a proud FA Trophy history, have twice finished as runners-up, in the 1998/99 and 2000/01 seasons, succumbing in the final to Kingstonian and Canvey Island respectively. Last season, their pursuit ended in the fifth round with a narrow defeat at Oxford City. Prior to that, they had overcome Braintree Town on penalties and secured a home win against Chorley.

Notably, Forest Green have maintained a formidable home record in the FA Trophy, remaining unbeaten at The New Lawn since a penalty shootout loss to Chorley in the 2013/14 season.
Manager Robbie Savage, who experienced an FA Trophy exit last season at this stage with Macclesfield—losing on penalties to Altrincham after a goalless draw—will look to lead Forest Green to further success in the competition.
