Forest Green Rovers look poised to secure the signing of highly regarded centre-back Gabe Kircough from Penybont. The 21-year-old defender is reported to have completed his medical and is set to join the club in Nailsworth imminently.
Kircough’s journey began at Pontardawe, where he progressed through the youth academy before moving to Penybont in the summer of 2021. Since then, he has become an integral part of Penybont’s squad, contributing one goal in the Cymru Premier this season and playing a key role in their UEFA Conference League Qualifiers campaign.
Currently, Penybont sit third in the Cymru Premier standings, with Kircough missing just two league games all season. Despite his young age, he has amassed an impressive 120 professional appearances across his time at both clubs, highlighting his experience and consistency.

Forest Green’s push to add Kircough comes amid a defensive injury crisis. Ryan Inniss is sidelined for six weeks, joining captain Jordan Moore-Taylor, who is also unavailable for an extended period. This has left manager Robbie Savage eager to reinforce the defence ahead of the busy fixtures ahead.
The club is expected to officially announce the signing on Monday, following their recent 2-0 victory over Ebbsfleet United, which saw them progress to the fifth round of the FA Trophy.
