Forest Green Rovers have bolstered their defense by signing 20-year-old Abraham Kanu on a season-long loan from Reading.
Having risen through Reading’s youth system, Kanu earned his first professional contract in July 2024 and made a total of 16 appearances for the Royals during the 2024/25 season, including 10 in League One and six in various cup competitions.
Rovers manager Robbie Savage expressed enthusiasm about the new addition: “Abraham is a fantastic player. Mark Bowen, our director of football, has extensive knowledge of him from his time at Reading. He’s a strong, physical defender capable of playing multiple positions. Abraham possesses excellent pace combined with solid technical abilities, and we expect him to be a valuable asset to our squad.”
