Forest Green Rovers Release Five Players and Offer New Contracts Following National League Play-off Exit

Forest Green Rovers have announced the release of five players and extended contract offers to two others following their narrow defeat in the National League play-off semi-finals, which means they will remain in the league for another season.

Goalkeeper Jamie Searle, who made his National League debut in the final regular season match against Oldham Athletic, will be among those leaving. Midfielder Teddy Jenks, 23, signed from Brighton in June 2023, departs after making 35 league appearances and scoring two goals. Emmanuel Osadebe, 28, who featured 61 times and netted a goal in the recent semi-final against Southend, will also be released.

Striker Jordon Garrick, who scored four goals after rejoining the club in January, is set to leave at the end of the 2023-24 campaign. Belgian-born forward Tyrese Omotoye, 22, who had limited opportunities this season during his second stint at the club, is also departing.

Meanwhile, new contracts have been offered to defender Jordan Moore-Taylor and young goalkeeper Fiachra Pagel. Moore-Taylor, 31, has made nearly 150 appearances and scored seven goals since joining in July 2020. Pagel, signed from Drogheda United in 2023, has yet to make his league debut but gained experience through loan spells at Swindon Supermarine and Tiverton Town.

Defender Ben Tozer, 35, has announced his retirement from professional football.

Loan players Luke McCormick, Ted Cann, and Brandon Fleming have returned to their parent clubs. However, both Cann and Fleming have been released by West Bromwich Albion and Hull City respectively, while McCormick has also been released by Bristol Rovers.

Players currently under contract include Ryan Inniss, Adam May, Sean Long, Harvey Bunker, Charlie McCann, Liam Sercombe, Tom Knowles, Kyle McAllister, Jamie Robson, Christian Doidge, Joe Quigley, Harry Cardwell, Cian Harries, Keon Sanniola, Will Merrett, and Jose Marquez.
