Forest Green Rovers' manager, Steve Cotterill, praised Joe Quigley after his remarkable contribution from the bench in the 1-1 draw with Hartlepool United on Monday.
The first-half goal by David Ferguson for Hartlepool United was matched by a late equalizer from Christian Doidge, securing another point for Rovers to conclude the regular season.
Cotterill commended Quigley, stating, “Quigs (Joe Quigley) has been brilliant… His hold-up play, pinning defenders and his assists are absolutely first-class.”

He further emphasized the impact of Christian Doidge coming off the bench, noting, “He has probably scored more coming off the bench than he has starting.”
Reflecting on the game, Cotterill acknowledged the need for sharper play in the second half and expressed optimism for the upcoming playoffs.
Forest Green Rovers are set to play against the winner of the fourth vs. seventh eliminator in the upcoming play-offs, either Rochdale or Southend United.
