Forest Green Rovers Host Wealdstone in FA Trophy Fifth Round

Forest Green Rovers will host National League rivals Wealdstone in the FA Trophy fifth round on Saturday, January 31. This fixture has prompted the rescheduling of Forest Green’s league match against Woking to accommodate the cup tie.

The two sides previously met in the National League this season, drawing 1-1 at Wealdstone’s Grosvenor Vale ground in November. Forest Green enter the fifth round on the back of solid performances in the competition, including a 2-0 victory over Ebbsfleet United at the Kuflink Stadium. Goals from loanees Isaac Moore (from Coventry City) and Abraham Kanu (from Reading) secured that win.

Forest Green began their Trophy campaign emphatically with a 4-0 triumph over National League South leaders Weston-super-Mare at home.

A win in the fifth round offers Forest Green a £6,000 prize, whereas a defeat would bring a lesser sum of £1,750.

New arrival Gabe Kircough will be available for selection in the competition, having transferred from the Cymru Premier and not being cup-tied. However, star signing Ricardo Rees will be ineligible to participate further in the FA Trophy after featuring for Merthyr Town earlier this season.
