Forest Green Rovers' first team coach Dan Connor commended the team’s ruthless performance in their 3-0 victory over Tamworth on Easter Monday.
Jordon Garrick, Charlie McCann, and Jamie Robson each found the net, solidifying Rovers' top three finish in the National League and guaranteeing them a home semi-final in the impending play-offs.
“The players executed the game plan brilliantly. When they perform at this level, they are a force to be reckoned with,” Connor remarked on the team’s ability to control the game.

Despite the convincing scoreline, Connor believed the team deserved even more credit for their overall performance.
The dominance displayed by Rovers was evident in the 29th minute when Garrick scored past Tamworth’s goalkeeper. McCann swiftly followed with a composed finish just minutes later, with Liam Sercombe providing his second assist of the match.
Rovers continued their onslaught before halftime, with Robson finding the net off a pass from Garrick. Their persistent attacking play continued into the second half, with Garrick and McCann coming close to adding more goals.
The game was not without controversy as Steve Cotterill was red-carded in the first half, prompting Connor to assume media responsibilities post-match.
Reflecting on the red card, Connor stated, “Even with the manager’s dismissal, the team remained composed. Our focus was to follow the manager’s instructions and secure the win.”
Despite the challenges, Rovers' victory is expected to boost their confidence as they approach the play-offs.
Speaking about the team’s motivation following the win, Connor noted, “Confidence is built through consistent effort. It’s a challenging time in the season, but we’re in a strong position as expected.”
Looking ahead, Connor emphasized the importance of reviewing the positive aspects of their performance and finding solutions for any shortcomings. He highlighted the team’s effective play reminiscent of the season’s early stages and praised the contribution of substitute Harvey Bunker.
The match also showcased the resilience of goalkeeper Ted Cann, who impressed with his aerial command and defensive presence.
Gaining entry into the top three following Oldham’s draw and Rochdale’s failure to secure a win, Rovers are now preparing to face Oldham Athletic in their upcoming fixture.
