Hartlepool United returned to winning ways in the National League with a 2-1 victory over Forest Green Rovers at the Prestige Group Stadium. The win ended Hartlepool’s four-game goalless streak, which had severely dented their play-off aspirations.
Forest Green Rovers, meanwhile, remain strong in the race for promotion, having claimed 10 points from the last 12 available, but the defeat saw them slip to seventh place.
The match was notable off the pitch as well, with Hartlepool announcing that head coach Nicky Featherstone will step down at the end of the season. On the field, goals in the first half from Adam Campbell and Reiss McNally put Hartlepool in a commanding lead.

Campbell opened the scoring in the 35th minute, expertly finishing a cutback from Alex Reid. Just before halftime, McNally extended the lead by heading in Jamie Miley’s cross, leaving Forest Green goalkeeper Harry Isted with no chance.
Forest Green pushed for a comeback late on, and Kyle McAllister gave them hope by scoring a strike from the edge of the box in the 90th minute. However, the goal came too late to alter the outcome, and Hartlepool held on for the victory.
