Forest Green Rovers have confirmed the release of seven players following the conclusion of their contracts, signaling a new phase ahead of the 2025/26 season. Among those departing are notable names such as Christian Doidge, Ryan Inniss, and academy graduate Harvey Bunker.
The Rovers’ recent campaign ended in heartbreak with a 1-0 extra-time defeat against Boreham Wood in the National League play-off eliminator, sealed by Zak Brunt’s goal just after half-time in the additional period.
The full list of released players includes: Harvey Bunker, Christian Doidge, Sean Long, Ryan Inniss, Liam Sercombe, Harry Cardwell, and Keon Sanniola.

Meanwhile, several players who have seen limited action this season remain under contract. These include Cian Harries, Yahya Bamba, Max Robson, and academy graduates Jesse Aldridge, Akai Bonnick, and Will Merrett.
Club captain Jordan Moore-Taylor and first-choice goalkeeper Harry Isted are currently in ongoing negotiations with Forest Green Rovers.
Additionally, Jay Mingi, Chibby Nwoko, Ashqar Ahmed, Abraham Kanu, Elijah Morrison, and Jili Buyabu have all returned to their parent clubs after loan spells.
With these changes, Forest Green Rovers enter the new season with a core squad of 24 players, potentially expanding with the two players still under contract negotiations.
