Forest Green Rovers have granted their manager, Robbie Savage, permission to enter discussions with another club, amid speculation linking him to the managerial position at Peterborough United.
The National League side confirmed that Savage will not be present to manage the team for Tuesday night’s home game against Wealdstone.
When asked on Saturday about the possibility of being approached by Peterborough United, Savage neither confirmed nor denied the rumours, saying he was unsure if the club had made contact. “I don’t know, I’ve got a game to prepare for and I’m really excited to watch my team,” he told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

However, on Monday, the BBC reported that Forest Green Rovers have confirmed Savage is in talks with another club and will not be in charge of the upcoming match against Wealdstone.
Savage was appointed manager of Forest Green Rovers in July 2025, having prior experience managing non-league side Macclesfield Town. Currently, Forest Green is positioned 12th in the National League after 10 matches, with a record of four wins, two draws, and four defeats.
