In a thrilling Southern League Division One South encounter at Kayte Lane, Curtis Jemmett-Hutson came off the bench to clinch a 2-1 win for Bishop’s Cleeve against Willand Rovers. Willand initially took the lead through Bailey Kempster’s composed finish in the 11th minute, but Jake Lee capitalized on a defensive slip to equalize swiftly. The first half remained tightly contested with few clear chances for either side.

After halftime, debutant Reegan Messenger nearly put Bishop’s Cleeve ahead, but a valiant Willand defender blocked his effort. The decisive moment arrived just after the hour mark when Jemmett-Hutson’s header soared into the top left corner, securing the victory. Bishop’s Cleeve holds sixth place with up to two games in hand over teams above.

The team faces Hartpury this Saturday, who sit ninth following a resilient 2-2 draw at Melksham Town, overcoming a 2-0 deficit thanks to two spectacular goals from Nathan Jenkins. Despite being reduced to ten men late in the match, Hartpury managed to salvage a point.

In Southern League Premier South, William Upton’s strike handed Basingstoke Town a narrow 1-0 victory over Evesham United.

Over in the Hellenic League Premier Division, Slimbridge strengthens their pursuit of league leaders Roman Glass St George with a 4-1 victory against Cinderford Town at the Causeway. Jack W Smith and Aaron Evans-Harriott were among the key contributors as the Swans closed the gap to two points, benefiting from five games in hand.

Cirencester climbed into playoff spots after Harlie Price’s hat-trick helped secure a 3-1 win over Mangotsfield United. Tuffley Rovers defeated Lydney Town 3-0, while Thornbury Town pulled themselves out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 victory over Fairford Town.

Longlevens’ fixture was abandoned at 0-0 due to a power outage. Newent Town maintained their promotion push in Division One with a 4-1 win over Shortwood United, powered by a brace from George Brand.

In County League action, Tewkesbury Town surged to the top spot with a 5-0 demolition of Bishop’s Cleeve Development. Following a postponed match for league leaders Sharpness, Tewkesbury leads by two points despite having played more games.

Quedgeley Wanderers fell 3-1 at Wick, while Broadwell Amateurs edged Totterdown United 3-2 in a closely contested match. Chalford earned a 4-1 win against Hanham Athletic, and Tytherington Rocks overwhelmed Ruardean Hill Rangers 5-0.

Northern Senior League Division One leaders Dursley Town prevailed 3-0 over Gala Wilton, maintaining a two-point lead with a game in hand. English Bicknor’s Toby Wildig netted six times in an 8-1 rout of Bredon. Brockworth Albion defeated Falcons 4-1, while Cheltenham Civil Service and Charfield played out a goalless draw.

Division Two action saw Harrow Hill draw 2-2 with King’s Stanley. Wickwar Wanderers beat Barnwood United 2-1, and Frampton United Reserves triumphed 5-0 over Mitcheldean. Mushet & Coalway also claimed a 4-0 victory against Winchcombe Town.

In the County Women’s League, Hartpury tops Division One after an emphatic 8-2 win over Dursley Town, led by Amelia Rankin’s hat-trick. Bristol Brunel remain close behind with games in hand. Cheltenham Saracens fell 5-2 to AEK Boco Reserves despite Sophie Sharpe’s brace.

Newent Town continues their strong form in Division Two with Nicole Lewis scoring twice in a 2-1 win over City of Gloucester. Bishop’s Cleeve Development leads Division Three following a 4-1 win at Andoversford. Kingswood sits second after defeating Bradley Stoke 2-1, and Cheltenham Spa bested Tuffley Rovers 4-1.

In Division Four, Berkeley Town suffered a 2-0 loss to Southmead Reserves, rounding off a busy weekend of competitive football across multiple leagues.
