Cirencester Town commenced their Hellenic League Premier Division campaign with a 2-1 win away at Tuffley Rovers, with Harlie Price netting both goals. The hosts started brightly and had a penalty appeal turned down early on. However, Raiyan Ahmed’s clever play set up Kieran Alder to give Tuffley a 12th-minute lead.
Cirencester gradually found their rhythm, and shortly before half-time, Price unleashed a stunning strike from approximately 30 yards to equalise. Just before the break, Ben Lodge’s delivery into the Tuffley goalmouth caused chaos, which Price capitalised on to put Cirencester ahead.
The second half saw a high tempo game beginning to take its toll. Tuffley’s goalkeeper Luke Merchant was kept busy, saving multiple efforts. Cirencester’s Adam Corcoran made a crucial goal-line clearance denying Preston Mason, while an Ed Scott header hit the crossbar from a corner.
