Five men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a violent incident on the M5 near Bristol Airport in Gloucestershire early Saturday morning, February 21. The confrontation followed a collision involving multiple vehicles on the A38, reported to Avon and Somerset Police at approximately 8:25 a.m.
Two men sustained injuries in the altercation and subsequent crash. Both victims are receiving treatment in hospital, and officials have confirmed that neither is in life-threatening condition.
The five suspects were detained on the M5 northbound and remain in custody as investigations continue. Emergency services responded swiftly, managing the scene and minimizing disruption.

Superintendent Jen Appleford assured the public there is no ongoing threat, noting that those involved are known to each other, come from outside the area, and the incident is contained.
Police are conducting extensive CCTV and forensic examinations and have called on witnesses to provide any information that may assist the investigation.
