Five men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a violent confrontation near Bristol Airport on Saturday, February 21. The incident, which involved multiple vehicles and injuries, occurred on the A38 close to the South West airport and was reported to Avon and Somerset Police at approximately 8:25 a.m.
Two men sustained injuries during the attack and are currently receiving medical treatment in hospital. Authorities have confirmed that neither victim is in life-threatening condition.
All five suspects were apprehended on the northbound M5 in Gloucestershire and remain in police custody as investigations continue. Emergency services continue to attend the scene on the A38, and police have urged anyone with information to come forward to assist with the enquiry.

Superintendent Jen Appleford reassured the public, stating, “We understand this incident may have caused concern in the local community. However, we do not believe there is any ongoing risk as those involved are known to each other and are from outside our force area. This appears to be an isolated incident.”
Following a swift police response deploying multiple resources, the situation was brought under control quickly. Officers are now conducting thorough CCTV reviews and forensic investigations to piece together the events.
