Five Arrested as Man Battles Life-Threatening Injuries Following West Town Shooting

Five individuals have been arrested following a serious shooting on St Paul’s Street in the Gorse Hill area of Swindon, Wiltshire. The incident unfolded shortly before 9pm on Friday, June 19, when police responded to reports of gunfire.

A man in his 30s sustained a gunshot wound and was rushed to hospital, where his condition remains serious but stable as of Saturday.

Wiltshire Police have established a cordon around the St Paul’s Street and Queens Drive area to manage the ongoing investigation and ensure public safety.

Among those detained, a 51-year-old man faces charges of attempted murder. Additionally, a 32-year-old is held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and involvement in the supply of Class C drugs.

Other arrests include a 33-year-old man suspected of assisting an offender and possession with intent to supply nitrous oxide, and two teenagers aged 16 and 19, both arrested for assisting an offender and the younger also for possession with intent to supply nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation.

Wiltshire Police are urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting them on 101, quoting log number 416 from June 20. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
