A loving grandfather’s life was tragically cut short on Christmas Day following a road accident in Gloucestershire. Peter Bate, 75, was struck by a car while walking his dog in Churchdown on the afternoon of December 14.
Emergency services responded promptly to reports of the collision on Cheltenham Road East around 4:40 pm and rushed Peter to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Despite medical efforts, Peter passed away 11 days later, on December 25.
In a heartfelt statement, Peter’s family expressed their grief: “Peter Bate sadly passed away on December 25, 2025. He was involved in a road traffic collision in Churchdown on December 14 while out walking the family dog. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. Pete was a loving partner, father, and grandad. We are devastated by the loss of Pete, who was cherished by everyone.”
