Family of ‘Best Daddy’ Who Died in M5 Tragedy Issues Heartfelt Plea

The family of Joshua ‘Josh’ Bruton, a beloved father and partner, has issued a heartfelt plea following his tragic death in a two-vehicle crash on the M5 in Gloucestershire. The 30-year-old from Warwickshire lost his life instantly in the accident on Wednesday, May 6, leaving his loved ones devastated.

Josh was affectionately known as a “gentle giant” with a heart full of kindness, whose love and dedication as “the best daddy” profoundly impacted those around him. His family described the pain of losing him as immeasurable, emphasizing that life will be “incredibly hard without him.”

To support Chloe, his partner, and their two-year-old son, Caden, a fundraising campaign has been launched by family member Tilly Steer. With no insurance or financial protection in place, the family hopes to ease the financial burden of funeral costs and provide some stability during this heartbreaking time.

Tilly shared, “On Wednesday, Josh left home not knowing it would be his last day. He kissed Chloe and Caden goodbye, telling them he’d see them after work—a moment no one ever imagines will be their last.” She urged for donations and support to help Chloe and Caden navigate life without Josh.

Josh’s family paid tribute to his extraordinary spirit: “Josh was a man full of love and dedication. Whether as a partner, father, son, brother, or friend, he touched many lives with his positivity and kindness. His unwavering commitment, especially as a devoted father to little Caden, defined him.”

Emergency services responded promptly to the crash involving a grey Luton van and a Volkswagen Transporter near junction 9 for Tewkesbury. Unfortunately, Josh died at the scene. The police continue to investigate and have asked anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

The fundraiser has already raised approximately £9,500 to support the family through this devastating loss. Josh’s memory lives on through his family and the countless lives he touched, inspiring others to cherish their loved ones every day.
