Several local football clubs celebrated victories in Saturday’s FA Cup extra preliminary round, with Longlevens, Fairford Town and Cirencester Town set for second consecutive away fixtures in the competition.
Longlevens led the way among the travelling sides with a commanding 6-1 win over Malmesbury Victoria. After conceding an early goal by Kassa Anderson at the Flying Monk Ground, Levens responded through Fin Gwillim who levelled the score before Oliver Long put them ahead just before half-time. Gwillim added a second goal on 65 minutes, followed by finishes from Alex Knight, Gino Valenti and Lewis Rose to complete an emphatic victory. Their next challenge takes them against Winslow United of the Southern League Division One Central.
Fairford Town also secured a narrow 2-1 win at Cribbs. Charlie King’s first-half strike gave them a lead, but Joseph Davis’s equaliser kept Cribbs in the contest. Ultimately, Max Scholefield’s 66th-minute goal ensured Fairford’s progression, with their upcoming match scheduled away at Reading City in the Combined Counties Premier North division.

Cirencester Town triumphed 2-0 over Hartpury at the Talent Hire Stadium, scoring both goals in the second half. After a goalless first half, Price converted a penalty on the 77th minute, and Sol Pryce sealed the victory with a precise shot ten minutes later. Cirencester now prepare to face Marlow on the road.
Slimbridge narrowly overcame Burnham 2-1 in a midweek replay after a 1-1 draw on Saturday. Goals by Leighton Green and Jack Smith secured the Swans’ advancement. They will face Milton Keynes Irish, another Southern League Division One Central side, in the next round.
In other FA Cup news, Bishop’s Cleeve will host Wallingford & Crowmarsh as they enter the preliminary round. Meanwhile, Tuffley Rovers’ efforts were undone by Swindon Supermarine, who came back to win 3-1 after trailing by a Connor Walters penalty.
League actions included a 5-1 defeat for Cinderford Town at Thatcham Town, with Tino Shumba scoring the only goal for Cinderford. Thornbury Town were edged out 1-0 by Brislington.
Hellenic League Division One saw Lydney Town and Sharpness remain unbeaten following a 1-1 draw at Hamfields, with Tyler Blount opening the scoring for Lydney before Brad Gibbs equalised for Sharpness. Alcester Town earned a 2-0 victory at Shortwood United. Cheltenham Saracens beat Newent Town 3-0, and Stonehouse Town secured a narrow 1-0 win against Chipping Sodbury Town.
Notably, Newent announced the departure of manager Ben Stait, who had been at the helm since the summer.
Brimscombe & Thrupp bowed out of contention after a 4-2 home loss against Bromyard Town despite efforts from Dom Kent and Jake Love.
Broadwell Amateurs began their County League season strongly with a 2-0 win over Longlevens Reserves, thanks to a brace from Ben Fishwick. Frampton United edged a 2-1 win against Totterdown United, with goals from Freddie Porter and Harvey Bain.
Quedgeley Wanderers dominated Ruardean Hill Rangers 7-0, highlighted by a hat-trick from Marcus Cornwall and additional goals from Henry Miles, Harry Reynolds, Fin Jenner, and Riley Stokes.
In the Bishops Cleeve Development versus Tewkesbury Town match, Tewkesbury secured a 1-0 victory, capitalising on a moment following a red card to Henry Danter-Welch.
Chalford were held to a goalless draw by Wick, marking their second consecutive 0-0 scoreline.
Northern Senior League Division One sees both Dursley Town and Hardwicke maintaining winning starts, with Dursley beating Barnwood United 2-0 and Hardwicke claiming a 3-1 win over Falcons.

Tuffley Rovers Reserves moved forward with a 2-0 win over Bream Amateurs. Viney St Swithins began their season with a 2-1 victory against Frampton United Reserves.
The Reg Davis Cup last 16 featured six ties played on Tuesday. Whaddon United delivered an impressive 9-3 win at Falcons, with Zack Hodges netting a hat-trick. Dursley Town advanced by a narrow 3-2 win over Bredon, thanks to a late winner from Ben Dolbear.
Other cup results included Harrow Hill winning 3-0 on penalties against English Bicknor after a 1-1 draw, Cheltenham Civil Service defeating Old Richians 4-2, and Wickwar Wanderers prevailing 6-3 over Smiths Barometrics, led by Will Lacey’s hat-trick.
Gala Wilton also secured a 3-1 victory over Winchcombe Town, with George Payne scoring for the Magpies.
