Unveiling a picturesque fairy woodland adorned with delicate bluebells, ponds, and rare trees, a special event is on the horizon. Hosted by Kerry Ford, the enchanting grounds will be open to visitors to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Cancer Research UK. While entry to the woodland is complimentary, contributions in support of the charities are encouraged.
Nestled in Hewelsfield, the woodland is a labor of love for Kerry, who has meticulously crafted a whimsical space featuring willow creations and an abundance of flora, including bee-friendly shrubs. Last year’s open garden event raised £1,700 for the chosen charities, and this year’s event aims to surpass that total. The support will benefit those affected by cystic fibrosis and help advance cancer research, driven by personal connections to these causes.
With the assistance of the Lydney Town Band, the event promises an immersive experience, replete with steward-led tours and an array of refreshments, homemade cakes, and plants for sale. Children are also treated to complimentary squash. Kerry’s hope is that the event will inspire others to cultivate their own gardens and appreciate the natural beauty on display.
