A significant emergency services presence at Cheltenham Spa train station has been clarified. Last night, police, paramedics, and the fire service were summoned to the station following reports of a train incident.
Numerous emergency vehicles were observed at approximately 9.30pm including three police cars, three fire engines, two paramedic cars, and an ambulance.
A British Transport Police spokesperson disclosed that the presence of officers was due to reports of a train collision with an animal near Cheltenham Spa railway station at around 9pm on April 9. Following investigation, it was determined that an animal had indeed been struck by a train.

In response to the incident, a spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service stated, “We were called at 21:08hrs on Wednesday 9 April to an incident in Cheltenham. We dispatched one double-crewed land ambulance, an operations officer, and a critical care car to the scene.”
