Significant traffic disruptions are expected across the Cotswolds this weekend as protesters gather at RAF Fairford to voice opposition to the US-Israel conflict with Iran. The event, organized by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), will take place on Saturday, April 25.
Gloucestershire County Council has confirmed that 11 roads around Fairford will be subject to rolling closures from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. These measures are intended to manage the safe movement of demonstrators marching from Fairford High Street—where the protest will begin at midday—to the Royal Air Force base, which hosts American bomber jets.
A spokesperson from Gloucestershire Police emphasized their commitment to balancing the right to peaceful protest with the public’s need to continue their daily activities with minimal disruption. The police assured that while lawful and peaceful protest will be supported, any unlawful actions will be promptly addressed. Coordinated efforts have been ongoing between law enforcement, protest organizers, and several local and national agencies to ensure the event proceeds smoothly.

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes on April 25 due to the temporary road closures and to allow extra travel time around Fairford throughout the day.
