If your family is seeking enjoyable activities this summer while keeping costs down, a popular theatre promotion might be just what you need. Money Saving Expert (MSE), established by Martin Lewis, has spotlighted the return of the well-loved ‘Kids Week’ offering.
This initiative allows children aged 17 and under to attend over 50 London theatre shows for free when accompanied by an adult purchasing a full-price ticket via the Official London Theatre’s Kids Week website.
Originally running for one week only, Kids Week has expanded in response to demand and now continues throughout the entire summer school holiday period, until 31 August.

In addition to discounted theatre tickets, MSE encourages families to explore Kids Eat Free deals available this summer – ideal for grabbing a meal before or after the show and adding extra value to your outing.
According to the Official London Theatre website, Kids Week’s primary aim is to introduce young people to the theatre scene in London. Under this scheme, each child goes free when accompanied by an adult with a full-fare ticket, and you may also purchase up to two additional child tickets at half price. Importantly, there are no booking or transaction fees involved.
Among the popular shows participating in Kids Week are blockbuster productions such as Wicked, Disney’s The Lion King, Beetlejuice, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and Matilda – with tickets available for selected performances until the end of August. As of 20 July, over 200,000 tickets remained.
Do note that the offer applies only to selected dates for each participating production and tickets must be booked through the official Kids Week website. Availability varies as each performance has a limited allocation of discounted tickets, and some dates may sell out quickly.
Parents and guardians can book up to 10 Kids Week tickets in one order, with a maximum of five adult tickets included. Age guidance and restrictions differ by show, so it’s advisable to check each production’s details carefully.
Exchange policies vary across theatres and are subject to venue approval. Tickets are refundable only if the performance is cancelled.
