The Arle Court Park & Ride 100 service in Cheltenham has received a significant upgrade, providing more reliable, affordable, and sustainable travel options for residents and visitors alike. This key route, operated by Stagecoach West in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council, runs from Arle Court Transport Hub into central Cheltenham, helping reduce congestion and improve air quality in the town centre.
Passengers benefit from free all-day parking at Arle Court Hub and low return fares—£3.50 for adults or £5 for groups of up to five people—making the 100 service one of the most cost-effective ways to reach Cheltenham’s heart. The buses utilize dedicated sections of Cheltenham’s bus lanes, ensuring a swift journey of approximately 12 minutes.
One major improvement is the introduction of a new Sunday service, running every 20 minutes between 9:25 am and 5:05 pm. This enhancement, backed by a £50,000 investment, offers weekend shoppers, workers, and visitors greater flexibility. Additionally, a £10,000 investment has enabled extra late-night buses every 20 minutes during the busy festive shopping period, continuing until January 10, 2026.

These enhancements are funded by a £60,000 grant from Gloucestershire County Council aimed at promoting sustainable transport and supporting local public transit options.
Cllr Roger Whyborn, Gloucestershire County Council’s cabinet member for sustainable transport and strategic highways, emphasized the council’s commitment: “Flexible and frequent services at Arle Court are crucial for reducing air pollution and congestion. We are proud to continue investing in reliable bus services for our community through strong partnerships.”
Chris Hanson, Managing Director of Stagecoach West, added: “Our partnership with Gloucestershire County Council enables us to expand the service with new Sunday and late-night routes. This makes travel easier, greener, and more affordable, especially during the festive season. With free parking and fast links to Cheltenham, Arle Court Park & Ride remains the top choice for residents, commuters, and visitors.”
Arle Court Transport Hub also features the UK’s largest contactless payment EV charging facility within a public transport hub. The multi-storey car park includes 100 seven-kilowatt EV charge points for long-term charging alongside four rapid chargers, supporting electric and hybrid vehicle users who wish to power their cars while exploring Cheltenham.
